FAO Project

Under a Letter of Agreement (LoA) between FAO and Makerere University – College of Agricultural and Environmental Science (MAK-CAES), Makerere University Centre for Climate Change Research and Innovations (MUCCRI) is delivering the project titled “Developing an integrated knowledge management system to generate and disseminate information on climate risks and emerging adaptation options/best practices at district and national level”.

The project targets to strengthen knowledge management and communication teams in 16 districts of Uganda that include: Nakasongola, Nakaseke, Luwero, Mubende, Kiboga, Sembabule, Kayunga, Kamuli, Buyende, Amolator, Kaberamaido, Amuria, Katakwi, Abim, Napak and Amudat;, put in place an equipped Climate Change Adaptation Knowledge Base (CCAKB) software and necessary equipment, hold national level workshop to present the development of CCAKB, and expansion of the CCAKB to the national level. As part of the
wider goal of the project, capacity needs assessment activities have been designed to understand and enhance the capacity of districts to generate and disseminate climate change adaptation information, knowledge and experiences as a way of accelerating learning on a continuous and sustainable basis beyond the expiry of the project.
