      The work of the Centre is overseen by an Advisory Board which comprises of the following:

      • The Principal College of Agricultural Environmental Sciences , who Chairs of the Steering Committee.
      • A representative from the office of the Vice Chancellor, Makerere University.
      • A representative from the School of Agricultural Production,CAES.
      • A representative from the School of Food Science and Bio-Systems Engineering, CAES.
      • A representative from the School of Forestry, Environmental and Geographical Sciences, CAES.
      • A representative from the Ministry of Agriculture, Animal Industry and Fisheries,
      • A representative from the Ministry of Water and Environment,
      • A representative from the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Development,
      • A representative from the Ministry of Disaster Preparedness,
      • A representative from the Ministry of Finance,
      • A representative from the Climate Change Unit,
      • A representative from the Parliamentary Forum on Climate Change,
      • A representative from the National Council of Science and Technology A representative from the Private Sector Foundation,
      • A representative from the Civil Society,
      • A representative from the Development Partners Climate Change Working Group.

      The coordinator of the Makerere University Centre for climate Change Research and Innovations, is the secretary to the Advisory Board meetings. The Advisory Board:

      • Oversee the overall functioning of the Centre.
      • Approve the appointment of the centre coordinator.
      • Decide the overall direction of the Centre.

      Scientific work at the centre is overseen by a Scientific Committee that meets as often as necessary and comprises of the following:

      • The Makerere University Deputy Vice Chancellor,
      • Academic Affairs Deputy Director Research from the Directorate of Research and Graduate Training,
      • Deputy Principal, College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences, Makerere University,
      • A representative from the Department of Geography, Geo-Informatics and Climate Sciences,
      • A representative from the Department of Forestry, Biodiversity and Tourism,
      • A representative from the Department of Environmental Management,
      • A representative from the Department of Agricultural Production,
      • A representative from the Department of Agribusiness and Natural Resource Economics,
      • A representative from the Department of Extension and Innovation Studies,
      • A representative from the Department Food Technology and Human Nutrition,
      • A representative from the Department Agricultural and Bio-Systems Engineering Coordinator Meteorology Unit Makerere University,
      • A representative from the National Agricultural Research Organization Coordinator Centre for Climate Change Research and Innovations Two experts of climate change

      The Scientific Committee:

      • Overall direction of the scientific work of the centre
      • Approve the research mandate of the centre under each of the four themes
      • Approve appointment of the four theme leaders of the centre

      Work at the Makerere University Centre for Climate Change Research and Innovations is the overall responsibility of the Principal of the College of Agricultural and Environment Sciences, Makerere University. The Centre is headed by a Coordinator who is a fulltime Academic Staff at the rank of Senior Lecturer. The Day-today running of the centre is done by the Centre Deputy Coordinator who is a fulltime employee of the centre. The Centre has a Communications officer who is in charge of communication work at the centre including managing the Centre's website.
